Timberline Lodge

  • 27500 e Timberline West, Government Camp, OR 97028, United States

Constructed in 1937, Timberline Lodge stands on the south slope of Mt Hood at an elevation of 6,000 feet. This beautiful 55,000 square foot National Historic Landmark is still being used for its original intent – a magnificent ski lodge and mountain retreat for everyone to enjoy. Declared a National Historic Landmark in 1977, Timberline Lodge is one of Oregon’s most popular tourist attractions, drawing nearly two million visitors every year.

Timberline Lodge is filled with amazing spaces that beg enjoyment. Our main headhouse lobby features three fireplaces at the base of a 90 foot chimney. Our outdoor patios offer the most stunning views in Oregon. Our outdoor pool is heated and open year round. With so many places to explore all under one roof, you’ll feel as if the Lodge is an extension of your guest room. Timberline Lodge has 70 guest rooms ranging from spacious king fireplace rooms to European chalet bunk rooms. Whichever you choose, you will get 100% authentic Timberline for your Mt Hood accommodations. A pioneering spirit of craftsmanship paired with a deep-rooted connection to the region inspires Timberline’s culinary program. Timberline is at the center of Oregon’s bounty, surrounded by mountain streams and a plentiful ocean teeming with fish, rolling fields of fresh and organic produce and locally-raised livestock and poultry. All tended by producers with a common goal.

We’re the only ski area in North America that’s open 10 months of the year. We’ve got 4,540 vertical feet…more than anybody else in the U.S. We’re located near the top of an 11,245-foot volcano…the tallest mountain in Oregon. Timberline offers the longest ski season in North America. The winter season typically begins early to mid-November and continues through Memorial Day. Our Palmer Express high-speed quad lift allows us to operate later into the summer season than anyone else (usually June through August). The Palmer lift operates in the Spring and Summer seasons only. During the winter months, we offer snowcat rides to the top of Palmer when weather permits.

In the summer, guests enjoy the Timberline Bike Park, open July through September. Wildflowers start popping up mid-summer to the enjoyment of serious hikers and casual site-seers. The Pacific Crest Trail crosses over Mt. Hood right behind the historic lodge. Our Magic Mile Sky Ride is available for tourists to take a trip up to the 7,000′ elevation of Mt. Hood, no skis required.

Visit Timberline Lodge any time of the year and enjoy everything Mt. Hood has to offer! We are proud to be your host.
